Word has been received by Mrs. Kincheloe of Pinneo that her brother, Axel Christopherson, of the Marines was killed in action in France, June 13.

Colorado News Notes-

Five Colorado boys missing and 2 killed are on the roll of the casualty lists made public by the war and marine departments, Sept. 20. The missing are Alva D. Evans, Colorado Springs; George B. Lance of Thacher; Claude L. McCoy, Olney Springs; Richard Nickerson, Grand Junction; George E. Taber, Manitou. The killed are Alex Christofferson, Pinneo and Anastacio Tragillo, Walsenburg.

The Peter Christoffersen family arrived at Ellis Island 20 May 1908 on a ship from Copenhagen. The manifest indicates they were going to join Sophia's brother, P.A. Anderson, at Akron.

Axel Christoffersen is listed in Soldiers of the Great War but is not listed in 1941 Colo NG Roster of Men and Women Who Served in the World War from Colorado, 1917-18. He was inducted from Detroit, Michigan where he was working in an automobile plant.

The Seven Pines National Cemetery is at Sandston, Virginia, eight miles south of Richmond.
